Kaelos is a progressive web app with the purpose of making an usually boring activity into fun by employing gamification techniques to improve user engagement in said activity, the main intent of Kaelos is to create an active community by delivering real benefits to communities like improvements of local spaces, recycle centred activities and the creation of Kaelos ambassadors who will become leaders of their communities.
BeSafe is an investigation project destined to develop an app that helps before, during and after a natural disaster by helping the civilians to find emergency services like medical aid, shelter locations and where to find food. The second purpose of this app is to help the rescue teams by helping them to pinpoint people in distress though a beacon activated through the app when a distress signal is activated through the app. This app is proposed to work through peer to peer network so even if the cellphone network is down you can keep connected with the services.
The process of app development is centered in the integration of current and new technologies in the social challenges Mexico faces, these apps proposes a new approach to this problematics through the integration of UI/UX design.
